If you weren’t already excited for today’s release of Sniper Elite 3, this release day trailer will rev you up. And if you were already keen on it, the trailer will have you almost wetting your pants in anticipation of playing the third-person shooter later today.

Unless you’re already at home, playing after having picked up your copy first thing this morning as the shops opened, in which case I hate you and wish I were you. (My copy is on my desk waiting to be played, but unfortunately this work thing is getting in the way.)

Sniper Elite 3’s launch trailer is a beautiful showcase of everything the new game has to offer: stealth, tactical decision-making, subterfuge and of course the skull-splitting, organ-grinding sl0w-motion ballet of death-by-sniper-bullet that is the game’s signature feature.

You’ll also see the series’ newest drawcard in action, that of vehicular kill-cams that go to the same level of X-rayed detail as with human kills when vehicles are hit in just the right place by sniper Karl Fairburne’s well-placed bullets.

It’s utterly spectacular, and you should really watch it now:

Sniper Elite 3 is out today and retails at R499 for PC, R599 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and R799 for PS4.
