JCSE’s Agile Africa Conference coming to Johannesburg

The Joburg Centre for Software Engineering (JCSE) will once again play host to the Agile Africa Conference, which aims to change people’s views about software development. The conference which is scheduled for August this year, it will take place in Braamfontein.

The three-day workshop will see international software expert Alan Willett and Prof Barry Dwolatzky take to the stage to “give you the key things you need to do to improve your software development culture and thus its performance.”

“Our goal is to provide you with the key levers you will need to reduce your personal work-load, while raising the bar of excellence on your organisation’s software projects.” Agile Africa said in a media statement “We will give you an executive level understanding of the underlying laws of software development, and the key ones that most leaders are not aware of,”.

Confirmed keynote speaker include David Hussman, who will be tackling the issues of agility in companies of all sizes; software industry veteran Daniel Vacanti; and Bennet Vallet, who is the Director of product development at Siemens Healthcare in the US.

Apart from the keynote sessions, there will also be a number of executive and detailed sessions where senior management and experts learn about the key issues they need to appreciate to uplift performance in the organization.

JCSE also announced that they have started the 6th Annual ICT Skills Survey the results of which will be published in October this year. They are inviting all practitioners of ICT skills to complete the surveys so that they can better plot the ICT landscape in South Africa.
