Now, we know you’re all excited about the prospect of applying to work with us, but even I have to grudgingly admit that I’d be dusting my CV off for another vacancy that’s just gone live – if I wasn’t already gainfully employed that is.

Those masterful hackers at RoboHand and RepRap Morgan (who share space at Centurion’s House4Hack makerspace) are looking for someone to go and build 3D printers for a living. If that didn’t just make your knees go a little weak, you’re probably reading the wrong blog.

3D Printer Assembly Technician

We have a position for an Assembly Technician available.

Major job duties will include:

  1. Assemble fabricated parts
  2. Use hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications
  3. Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
  4. Identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repair as necessary
  5. Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  6. Flexible and can perform a variety of tasks
  7. Mechanical & Electronics experience an advantage

This position preferably requires a technical diploma or its equivalent within mechanical and/or electronics fields.

May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of speciality.
