Remember the Game Boy? These kids think it’s rubbish

If you’re anywhere between 25 and 40, you may remember the day you got your first handheld videogame as a kid. Chances are it was a Game Boy, and you probably have plenty of wonderful memories of spending countless hours playing Street Fighter Alpha, Duck Tales or Mega Man on it.

Should that be the case, prepare to feel old when you watch this video of kids reacting to being handed a Nintendo Game Boy. My favourite comments?

“I’ve seen this before! Isn’t it an iPhone cover?”

“Is it an MP3?”

“You mean you don’t just download the app?” when asked to turn it on and insert a game cartridge.

“The whole thing is sort of big… and clunky.”

Touché, kids. Shows you just how far we’ve come with tech over the last 25 years. On the bright side, though, some of them found the old games to be just as addictive as kids from back in the day did, so there’s an argument to be made that fun remains fun even without flashy graphics and touchscreens.

The Kids React series is made by The Fine Bros. (the link takes you to their YouTube channel where you’ll find many more similar-themed videos to watch) and features kids aged anywhere from three to 13 reacting to all kinds of old technology.

Watch a few of the videos, and try not to feel older than your young-at-heart pastime probably has you feeling on the inside.
