Apple confirms September 9th iPhone 6 event

With a clockwork-like regularity, Apple has sent out an invite to the media for its annual September announcement event which is widely expected to be the launch platform for the iPhone 6 (along with the iOS 8 operating system) and potentially some other rumoured hardware.

Apple September 9th 2014 Event Invite

The event will be held at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino which, according to MacRumours, has a much higher seating capacity than the venues used for Apple’s previous announcements which could point to a much larger selection of hardware being launched than just the iPhone 6.

There is also the possibility that the long rumoured Apple iTime/iWatch could make its debut to compliment the impending release of iOS 8’s HealthKit service. This would explain the need for more seating at the event venue which could be used for press other than the usual tech journalists Apple normally invites.

Apple is also building a large white structure at the Flint Center which could serve as a venue for hardware demonstrations after the event for the new hardware being shows off.

Whatever the announcements made on September 9th, we can expect the Apple fans of the world to be waiting in line for them almost immediately afterwards and the resultant sales to be record breaking as they always seem to be when Apple announces something new, especially when it’s an iPhone.

We’ll make sure to keep you up to date with all of the news from the launch event as it happens.
