Who won our Razer Kraken Neon Pro headset compo?

If you entered our Razer Kraken Neon Pro competition last month, this is the place to be because we’re about to announce the winner.

You were asked to complete the following sentence: “If I had a pet kraken, I would…”, and going on some of the answers we received, it’s a good thing South Africans won’t be getting pet krakens anytime soon. If they did, bosses, red-robot-jumpers, e-toll gantries and jet-skiers would all be in a lot of trouble indeed.

There also appear to be a number of Hollywood hopefuls among our readers, as it appears many people would like to be the one to say “Unleash the kraken!”. To be fair, who wouldn’t?

The three entries we liked most, though, were ones that showed their writers stretching their imaginations a little, which we always enjoy.

Mitchell Horn wrote “Take him for a chocolate milkshake. Kraken loves milkshakes.” Of course he does. Is there a better way to finish off a meal of fish and ships than with something sweet? I don’t think so.

Ben McInnes wrote “Steve and I would roam the seven seas and be the pirate lords we were always meant to be!” And what better way to do that than with a mythical sea monster called Steve at your beck and call? Coastal cities and merchant vessels, beware!

But the entry we liked best was from Bianca Louw, who struck a chord with our inner George RR Martin:

She said “TAKE WHAT IS MINE WITH FIRE AND BLOOD!” And that’s exactly what a pet kraken would allow her to do, so congratulations Bianca, your Razer Kraken Neon Pro headset will shortly be on its way to you.

If you didn’t win this time, keep an eye out for more chances to win on htxt.africa, we have more awesome competitions coming soon! And for those of you looking forward to the results of our Huawei P7 compo – we’ll have a decision next week. There were an awful lot of very good entries, and it’s going to take time to judge them all!
