Think you can sing better than Jack Parow? Prove it at rAge

Reckon you’ve got what it takes to battlerap with the best? You’ll be wanting to take up this challenge then. Bad boy of Afrikaans rap Jack Parow is inviting all-comers to out shout him on Saturday in a special appearance at the rAge gaming expo at the Northgate Dome this weekend.

And the hardcore hip off weapon of choice? Umm… Singstar: Ultimate Party on the PlayStation 4.

Parow and fellow muso Francois Van Coke (he of the Van Coke Kartel) [Who hell they – Old Ed] will be at the PlayStation stand at rAge Saturday between 11am and 1pm. While there’ll no doubt be plenty of mugging for selfies people, the general public will have the chance to challenge them to a sing-off, using the PlayStation 4 version of Singstar: Ultimate Party as the “judge”.

People will have 20 songs by international artists to choose from, including Aviici, Lady Gaga, Pharell Williams and more, with spot prizes up for grabs throughout the event. Someone could even win an exclusive “meet and greet” with the two singers.

If that’s something you’d like to tick off your bucket list, head to rAge on Saturday and prepare to queue.

Singstar: Ultimate Party is only coming out on the 29th of October, so it’s also a chance to get a sneak preview of the game before it goes on sale and try out its newest feature: the option to use an Xperia smartphone as a microphone. Yes, really.

rAge tickets can be purchased online at Computicket (R150 for a weekend pass or R8o per day), or at the door. Kids under 6 get in for free.

Good luck!
