“Online march” organised in support of Thuli Madonsela

“Our Public Protector now needs protection,” this is the message Together South Africa, a local non-political movement in support of the rights of all South Africans, is taking to the virtual streets in its online campaign set up in support of public protector Thuli Madonsela.

The “We the People” campaign, a title inspired by the constitution, aims to show solidarity for Madonsela and her office’s work by garnering supporters on the Thunderclap crowd support platform who will join Together SA on 18th November in sharing, liking, posting a pledge and taking selfie with their messages on social media and donating R10 to the online march.

“Thuli Madonsela and her team have come under fire for doing their job with integrity. We, the people, have the power and the voice to help the Public Protector’s office continue their work,” Together SA says on its campaign page. “Without fear. Without interference, as stated in our Constitution. You don’t need to shout from the mountains or march into parliament. It’s simple.”

We the People’s supporters target was set at 100 and so far 113 supporters have pledged their support with over a month to go before the campaign ends.
