Gamers watched over 623 years of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in its first week

Activision has put out a rather interesting infographic that I found over at PlayStationLifestyle highlighting three of Advanced Warfare’s big achievements so far, as well as a couple from the Call of Duty franchise in general.

Did you know that gamers spent over 5 million hours – that’s 623 years – watching Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare livestreams in its first week of release, which Gamespot said broke all sorts of records over at streaming service Twitch.tv? Or that the total amount of XP earned is more than a quadrillion? I didn’t either.

CODAWStats

A quadrillion, in case you’re wondering, is one thousand trillion, or 1 000 000 000 000 000. But then that’s what you get when a franchise has eight main entries with XP-tracking multiplayer, played all day, every day by millions of gamers the world over.

I thought the latest Call of Duty was pretty good in my review, and clearly Activision is proud of how well it’s doing. They haven’t mentioned official sales figures yet, but a quick checkup on VGChartz.com shows that Advanced Warfare has almost clocked up 10 million sales worldwide so it’s not exactly doing badly on that front.

Did you enjoy Advanced Warfare, and are you still getting stuck in to the multiplayer, or have other games hijacked your attention?
