Sheldon, Leonard and the rest of The Big Bang Theory crew immortalised in LEGO

If you just can’t get enough of the nerdy antics of the characters on The Big Bang Theory, then you’ll be happy to know that you’ll soon be able to get your hands on an official LEGO set of the cast that was recently approved by LEGO Ideas.

LEGO Ideas is an official LEGO site where fans can pitch ideas for future sets they have created, have them voted for by the LEGO Ideas community to be reviewed and released commercially by the toy-making giant.

The Big Bang Theory set was submitted by  Alatariel and GlenBricker back in February and comes with collectible minifigures of Sheldon, Leonard, Raj, Howard, Penny, Bernadette and Amy, along with a replica of Sheldon and Leonard’s living room and other little accessories.

“Alatariel and I (GlenBricker) are not only deeply honored [sic] that LEGO has made this decision, but also excited and proud to be some small part of a show that we both love,” GlenBricker wrote in a blog post. “We give the deepest thanks to all those who voted for the project as well as shared it with their friends, families, and readers! Without your support this, quite literally, would not be possible.”

“This LEGO set will be a true match made in scientific heaven (well, actually in acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), because the brilliant characters in this popular American TV show appreciate LEGO bricks,” LEGO said.

LEGO also approved the LEGO Bird Project, a set designed to teach adults and kids about birds as the second officially approved LEGO collection.

The company is still working on final product design, pricing and availably for the two sets.
