Instagram adds five new filters and improved management features

Instagram has just given users more room to get creative and make their photos look great with five new filters recently added with its latest update.

Slumber, Crema, Ludwig, Aden, and Perpetua all join the current 19 filters available on Instagram. The last time the service added any new filters was back in 2012 when Mayfair and Willow joined the family.

Here are examples of what each filter looks like once applied:

Instagram says the filters are inspired by the photography, art, fashion and design of the global Instagram community and will soften and subtly shift colours to achieve the look and feel you want for yours.

Another handy new feature packaged with the update is an improved filter tray which shows you a blurred preview of your actual photo with the different filters so you’ll have a better idea of what it will look like. Before, you would see a preview of a hot air balloon with each filter.

Lastly, a new “manage” button has been added at the end of the filter tray, this feature lets you arrange the filters in any order you would like them to appear in and hide the ones you rarely use or don’t like.

You can get the five new filters and added features on Instagram for iOS and Android.
