Fashionistas attending SA Fashion Week (SAFW) in March next year can expect to be see a bit of geek chic making an appearance on the runway. SAFW has teamed up with Marvel Africa in search of designers to showcase garments inspired by superheroes in the Marvel Fashion-Hero Search.

The competition is a celebration of release of Avengers: Age of Ultron (coming out on 1st May 2015) and is looking for five up-and-coming designers from around the continent to make their SAFW debut with their own unique line inspired by any five Marvel Avengers characters including Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow and Thor.

To enter, designers must submit a portfolio of not more than 10 pages including their brand and Spring/Summer 2015 Marvel-inspired collection, which should also include comment on the concept behind the clothing as well as material and/or images that inspired it.

The deadline to register participation in the Marvel Fashion-Hero Search is the 5th of January 2015 and finalists will be selected on 14th March to take part in SAFW which happening from 18th to 22nd March.
