Eskom in Stage 2 loadshedding today until 11pm

It looks like the promise that loadshedding would become a daily part of South African lives is indeed already true.

Eskom has tweeted that it’s currently in Stage 2 loadshedding, which as you know by now means the utility is shedding up to 2000MW of the power it provides in order to maintain the stability of the overall network.

They issued a warning earlier this morning, saying loadshedding will take place from 8am to 11pm today.

This was followed by a rather more ominous-looking tweeted warning a few minutes ago:

Business Tech writes that on Wednesday, the Majuba plant experienced a stuck ash conveyor belt that took unit 3 offline, and that on Tuesday night unit 2 at Duvha tripped due to a technical fault. Koeberg, which had its own fault on Sunday, continues to be worked on.
