Sign up to volunteer at Black Girls Code’s first 2015 workshop in Joburg

This Saturday, Black Girls Code is hosting its first workshop for the year in Johannesburg and is again calling on anyone who is interested to volunteer their time.

Black Girls Code is an international movement started in the US by Kimberly Bryant, and is dedicated to teaching young girls of colour between the ages of seven and 17 all about tech and coding.

During the workshops, girls take part in fun activities and interact with tools such as Hackety Hack, Scratch and Robot Turtles, used for the coding practicals.

The Black Girls Code event will again be hosted at Wits University Engineering Labs in Braamfontein, and starts on Saturday the 7th of March at 8:30am. To sign up as a volunteer, you can fill in this form and subscribe to the event mailing list.
