Dell’s Inspiron 7000: More than the sum of its parts

The last time that a tablet has been held in such high esteem was almost five decades ago when medication took the form of a pill. This was perfect for the time yet it solved only the medical ailments of the day.

Nowadays, tablets have a different meaning. That is if we are looking at this device as a tablet with the functionality and power of a laptop, or if we’re looking at it as a laptop with the user-friendly nature of a tablet. It is rare that we find products that can compete within interrelated fields; rarer still is a single product that is interchangeable between the two.

The Dell Inspiron 7000 is the best of both worlds – or as the company humbly brands the device: Inspiron 7000 2-in-1.

It is also a tablet – for the Inspiron 7000 can be both simply by flipping the screen right over. It is an especially beautiful design that doesn’t come with bulky hinges or unsightly touches. User-friendly functionality with an aesthetic appeal does slot this hybrid into a niche of its own. So what is this device truly about?

For this, we need to see beyond the flexibility and look at the functionality of the device.

Dell went all out when it used the 4th Generation Intel® Core™ in i3 and i5 as processor options. Whilst the device weighs an astounding 1.66kgs, the screen size is a comfortable 13.3 inches with HD resolution. System memory begins at 4GB WITH 500GB Hard Drive space. It has a removable 3-cell lithium battery and comes with its own stylus- the company didn’t skimp out on the nice-to-haves.

We should not just make do with the ancient laptops of yesteryear when we can receive a silver tablet of tomorrow.
