[WATCH] Inside SA’s space program with SANSA and EDGE

A few weeks ago, we were able to host a couple of employees who lead engineering and mission teams at the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) as part of the monthly JoziConnect sessions at JoziHub.

Eugene Avenant is the chief engineer for SANSA’s Space Operations division, while Gladys Magagula led the team that oversaw the operation of South Africa’s first satellite, SumbandilaSat, in 2009 and is currently managing the team that will launch the country’s next satellite.

Danine Naidoo from EDGE – the weekly science and technology show on Channel ED which we advise on – was on hand to interview Avenant and Magagula during the course of the afternoon. And the results are below. If ever you’ve been curious about SANSA, this is essential viewing.

You can catch EDGE on DSTV channel 190 on Wednesdays at 7pm.
