Xbox One also going for cheap this Workers’ Day weekend

The PlayStation 4 isn’t the only console to enjoy a temporary price-cut this weekend: we’ve just been informed via press statement that the Xbox One is following suit.

Between the 1st and 3rd of May, you can get an Xbox One/Sunset Overdrive bundle for R5 299, or a regular Xbox One with either Forza 5 or Halo: The Master Chief Collection for R5 999.

From my side I’d say go for the Sunset Overdrive bundle – it’s a pretty decent game plus that price is a grand off the recommended retail.

The offer is available from the same participating retailers getting involved in the cheap PS4 promotion, so BTGames, Makro, Incredible Connection, CNA, Dion Wired, Game, Toys “R” US, Takealot, Musica, Games4u, and Animeworx.

Naturally, stocks will be limited so get there fast.

If you’re stuck choosing between the two, making that final decision could be quite tough as both platforms have a lot going for them.

The PlayStation 4 is the more powerful machine that has more games running at 1080p than on the Xbox One, but Microsoft’s Xbox Live ecosystem is just so slick and its Gamerscore achievement system more compelling than PlayStation’s trophies are (at least, in my opinion).

In terms of exclusives, the PS4 has Bloodborne, The Order: 1886 and the superb The Last of Us among others while the Xbox One’s offers include Halo 5: Guardians, Quantum Break, Rise of the Tomb Raider and the upcoming free-to-play Fable Legends to set it apart.

Definitely a good time to be a gamer. Good luck choosing!
