Modder pits 20 of The Witcher’s bears against 20 cyclopes in epic brawl

Think The Witcher 3 is pretty good? Well, it’s even cooler when a clever modder figures out a way to make 20 of the game’s badass bears fight against 20 cyclopes.

That’s exactly what YouTuber Geo Tyrannicon Paradissis has done with the PC version of CD Projeckt Red’s latest Witcher: he’s somehow managed to get all of those creatures together on an open bit of field in the game, where Geralt must dodge errant blows as the cyclopes and bears attempt to kill one another and him.

And yes, that’s really the plural of “cyclops” according to Google.

Tyrannicon’s work here is truly spectacular:

If that name looks familiar, that’s because Tyrannicon is the same person who made all those awesome Skyrim battle videos a few years back when he created several impressively cinematic battles starring Skyrim’s various monsters, factions and creatures, like the one below.

These sorts of videos are only possible because PC games are open to modding – the act of modifying the game’s rules, graphics and other technical aspects – that can do everything from creating fantastical battles to entirely new levels and storylines when talented gamers get their hands on them.

Console games don’t offer the same level of access to their code, or free access to the tools needed to modify them, making PC games the favourite domain of passionate tinkerers. The results, as you can see, are plainly spectacular.

If you’re playing The Witcher 3 on PC and are also keen on getting your hands on some modding tools, head over to Nexus Mods for the tools and tutorials that will equip you for your own unsanctioned Witcher 3 fun.
