The City Of Johannesburg’s Educating Digital Interns (JEDI) program for youths is now open for applications.
COJEDI was announced back in March by the city’s executive mayor to help equip 1 000 young people with digital skills to improve their chances of employment and increase their potential as entrepreneurs .
You can sign up for either on of three courses on offer: network engineering with Microsoft and CISCO, web design and development and fibre optic. All participants will then have to go through a leadership and innovation development course at the end of their course.
Each course takes place over a period of 10 months which is divided up into a three-month technical bootcamp, a month of leadership and innovation training and six months of immersive learning in some of country’s leading digital corporations.
To qualify for the program, you must fit the following criteria:
- be between the ages of 18 and 35
- reside in Gauteng
- have a Matric with maths and science among your subjects or a diploma in any IT-related field
- have basic digital knowledge
Applications close on July 3rd and must be submitted on the COJEDI website. You’ll need upload a copy of your CV, ID, matric or tertiary qualification certificate and proof of residence.
