[WATCH] Suicide Squad trailer from Comi-Con goes live

Unless you’ve been locked in an isolation ward over the last weekend – or possibly you have no interest in anything geeky (in which case why are you reading this?) – you’ll know San Diego played host to Comic-Con.

As is the case every year, celebrities sat on panels and answered questions from fans about films that aren’t out yet, fanboys (and girls) lined up to have their comic books signed by authors and artists and there was lots and lots of cosplay.

Also – once again, as is the case – a ton of trailers for upcoming films were shown and they promptly landed on the Internet thanks to fans wielding smartphones like they’re embedded reporters in a war zone. This means that most of the footage available was shot shaky-cam style and the sound quality varied from ‘sludge’ to ‘what the hell is happening?’.

Well, it seems some movie houses have started releasing their trailers on YouTube in HD and one of the movies we’re most excited about is DC’s Suicide Squad. If you know nothing about this film, it stars Jared Leto and Will Smith and it’s about a bunch of villains in the DC Universe being press-ganged into crimefighting for the state.

Leto stars as The Joker – and from the footage in the trailer he looks positively disturbing. Have a gander.

Directed by David Ayer (the bloke who helmed End Of Watch and Fury) Suicide Squad is slated for release in August of next year. We’re hoping it’ll hit our shores as it goes on release in States, because from the looks of that trailer it looks pretty epic.
