Xbox One players go hands-on first with Star Wars Battlefront

Microsoft’s Phil Spencer revealed yesterday that Star Wars fans will be able to swing their lightsabers first on the Xbox One when Star Wars Battlefront launches later this year.

If you (obviously) have an Xbox One and subscribe to EA Access, you will be able to play the game a couple of hours before PlayStation 4 players.

EA Access is the games developer’s dedicated channel on Xbox One, which gives subscribers access to a bunch of free EA games. For a fee of R50 a month, South African games can download a number of sports games, Plants vs Zombies, Need for Speed Rivals and Peggle 2. More games are added to service and-and-when EA feels like it.

It does come with the side benefit of having access to titles way before most other players, as well as access to demos and trials. At the moment, EA Access members can download and play 10 hours of Rory McIlroy PGA Tour before they have to fork over the full retail price.
