Mecer Android tablets listed as Google Play supported devices

South African computer and smart device company Mecer has managed to get three of its Android tablet models officially listed as Google Play supported devices.

If you have a Mecer 101P51C, 800P31C, and TEI11011 tablet, you will now be able to download Android apps from the Google Play store without any issues. This also means that you will only see apps in the Play Store that will work correctly with the listed tablets.

In order to be listed as official Google Play supported devices, Mustek Limited, Mecer’s parent company, had to run tests on the units by making use of the Android Compatibility Test Suite (CTS). According to the company, it is the only South African technology brand that has achieved this milestone.

“Achieving compatibility gives Mustek Limited the confidence that its listed devices will function flawlessly with Android and Google Play,” says Mustek CEO David Kan. “We are proud to be the first and only South African brand to achieve this milestone, and look forward to innovating Mercer forward.”

Mustek said that the Android compatibility program works for the benefit of the entire Android community, including its users, developers, and device manufacturers.

If you aren’t sure if your device is officially certified and listed as Google Play supported devices, you can see a complete list on Google’s website. Out of interest, Mecer’s three tablets are listed on page 155.
