Developers can earn prizes by completing Intel challenges

Intel has issued a challenge to makers and developers, launching The Developer Champs Program that aims to puts developers to work on the internet of things (IoT) and mobile development.

Challenges are separated across three platforms namely IoT, Android and Intel’s latest technology release, RealSense. By completing challenges on their chosen platforms, developers will earn points that they can then redeem for prizes including laptops, headsets and tablets

Each platform has challenges that they must complete in order to earn points. It appears that challenges have a time limit  (a month) and once this expires you won’t be able to take part in those challenges anymore.

For those of you that think you can grind your way to the top by completing challenges multiple times think again, Intel lets you complete each challenge once and only once. However, if you did miss something in a document or need more time to complete the challenge you can go back to it at later stage.

The challenges guide you through setting up your development environment and hardware right through to making your app or IOT creation. If you happen to get stuck don’t panic because the web portal has links to all the developer software you might need for the challenges.

We’re going to take part just to compare our skills to the rest of the world and see how many points we can rack up. If you’re at all interested in entering the wonderful world of makers this set of challenges is a great starting point, and hey, you can win some awesome prizes while you’re at it.
