PayGate to make it easier for startups to sell products online

Next to moving home, starting a business is probably one of the most stressful activities you can take part in. To help with this, PayGate’s new PayCollect service is aimed at makeing things just a little bit easier for those who want to go it alone.

One of the biggest barriers for any online company is how to get people to transact with them, and this service allows online startups to set up and start selling their wares in as little as 48 hours.

“The hoops that new e-commerce merchants need to jump through to start an online store are often complex and expensive. It is not just about having an e-commerce enabled website, there are multiple stakeholders that are required to facilitate the payment process and the barriers to entry are extremely high,” explains Brendon Williamson, business development manager at PayGate.

The platform gives companies the ability to accept credit and debit card payments, and PayCollect requires no upfront or monthly fees. Merchants only get billed for the transactions that take place, and PayGate’s PayProtector is included.

“In this way, we are creating an enabling environment for new and small e-commerce merchants to grow and scale their businesses over time. Our PayCollect service can almost be thought of as an ‘incubator account’, as it is providing a much needed platform for new and small e-commerce merchants to build their businesses and gain traction in what is still a nascent market,” Williamson said.
