Inaugural Women in IT Summit Africa set to take place next week

Over 100 women working in the African IT sector are expected to gather at the inaugural Women in IT Summit 2015 on Thursday next week, and you’re invited to attend.

Hosted by Siyanda Africa Communications, in partnership with It’s about people, Silicon Cape, Warpsody, Essays of Africa Magazine, ITWeb, Karabina, Cape Innovation and Technology Initiative (CiTi), The Umlambo Foundation and Clarins, the summit will focus on how best to integrate science and technology to transform society, creating a difference that resonates strongly with women across the continent.

The Women In IT Summit will feature keynotes under the theme “Connecting Women in Africa – Innovative Female Leaders, Catapulting Africa’s Technological and Economic Growth”, and provide “women across Africa with crucial information and knowledge on the opportunities and challenges of the evolving digital eco-system while assessing new developments,” the event organisers said in a statement.

Speakers include a mix of experienced men and women from within the African tech industry, including host of TechBusters on CNBC Africa Aki Anastasiou, Zandile Mbhele from IBM Global Business Services, Wabo Majavu, head of product management at Sentech and Toby Shapshak, editor at Stuff Magazine, among others.

The Women in IT Summit Africa 2015 will be held on the 17th of September at the Protea Hotel Balalaika in Sandton. Tickets are available at R5 231 per head.
