Last chance to enter this year’s iPhoneography competition

If you fancy yourself adept at taking pictures on an iPhone, don’t forget to enter this year’s South African version of the annual iPhoneography competition. But you must hurry, as entries close this Friday (4th September).

The competition is open to everyone who has taken a photo with an iPhone, and you can enter up to a total of five of your best photos spread across the categories Abstract, Portrait, My South Africa, Scenery and Still Life.

“Now in its fifth year, iPhoneography encourages every iPhone user (professional or not) to get clicking, and submit their picture-perfect images into a nationwide competition. The competition culminates in two sensational exhibition events, where winners are announced,” Apple South Africa explained on the website.

Last year’s winner was Cape Town-based Instagrammer Thoban Jappie, whose winning images was a top-down view of some of the cliffs at Cape Point.

“I noticed the colour of the ocean as it crashed close to the rocky shore, so I walked down to a lower lookout point, leaned as far over the guardrail as I could, then stuck my arm out even further, and fired off a few lookdown shots with my iPhone,” Jappie explained.

But what is up for grabs? Well, prizes like iPads and MacBooks are awarded to the best images in the respective categories.

It’s super easy to enter as well, as all you have to do is head over to the iPhoneography competition website and upload your images.

Good luck!
