SA music and video sharing app launching with R5 000 competition for talented artists

Ghost, one of the top 10 finalists in the R1m HackJozi startup competition earlier this year, is about to launch and it’s looking for talented people from all over South Africa to be featured on its line up of artists. And if you fancy trying your hand at video or song making, you stand the chance to win R5 000.

Ghost is a showcase platform app where upcoming and independent artists can upload videos of themselves and their work, be it music, dance, poetry, film, acting, animation, comedy, stunts or general entertainment.

There’s no shortage of video sharing apps in the world, we hear you cry, but the twist with Ghost is that the audience can easily tip creators a small amount of money every time they “like” a feature.

And for the launch of Ghost, anyone who submits a video ahead of launch will be entered into a competition to win R5 000. All you have to do is submit a four-minute video performance on Ghost’s website or Facebook page.

Ghost was created by entrepreneur and investment banker, Taolo Modisi.

“Ghost allows independent artists to showcase their talents globally via an online video format. This will give unknown artists a platform to be noticed worldwide and to be paid for doing so. Ghost has a unique revenue structure where artists can upload videos and make money doing what they love. The platform offers a great way for artists to market themselves,” Modisi says.

Ghost is also looking for ambassadors who are vibrant and will be able to help spread the word about the platform effectively. You can apply to be one by submitting your bio on the Ghost website

Ambassadors will share the benefits of Ghost with their communities and in this way will get enhanced benefits on the site if additional artists are brought on board.
