SA firms wins international BOSSIE open source award

Dev2, a software developer based in Hillcrest, has been awarded the prestigious 2015 BOSSIE open source aware.

The winning piece of software was developed by Dev2 for Irish-held business, Warewolf and its Warewolf ESB software. The software is an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), which is a system that provides core services for more complicated software architectures.

The annual Best of Open Source Software Awards (BOSSIEs) is handled by InfoWorld, an independent site that focuses on enterprise technology that is based in San Francisco.  The BOSSIEs “reward excellence in design and user experience in six categories”. Warewolf walked away with “Best Open Source Applications category.”

“Being contracted to develop for Warewolf was a great opportunity for us,” says Barney Buchan, CEO of Dev2, “The international award is an acknowledgement of the work our team has put into making Warewolf such a versatile and innovative software tool. Warewolf ESB is already being used in more than thirty countries worldwide.”
