[WATCH] The entirety of Avengers: Age of Ultron, in under 3 minutes, done in LEGO

Avengers: Age of Ultron is out of the theatres and in the wilds of post-release. You can now catch the robo-tastic adventure on DVD, Blu-ray or your preferred high sea. Or, you could watch it condensed into a few minutes, as LEGO.

From popular YouTube content creators How It Should Have Ended and BrotherhoodWorkshop comes “LEGO The Age of Ultron in 2 Minutes”. The short YouTube video manages to capture the entire plot of the film, recreated with LEGO versions of the cast and environments. With the official LEGO superhero line , as well as as a metric tonne of custom building, the video was put together using stop motion.

Enough talk, the video is below. Obvious spoiler warnings as, again, the whole movie is played out:

In a behind the scenes video (which is also around three minutes long) the staggering amount of work needed to create this project was discussed. Over more than five weeks and 250 hours of work, every scene of the movie was boiled down into “a single, humorous shot”. From there the shots needed to be created in LEGO and then animated via countless static photos which get turned into the stop motion.

We take our hats off to the team behind this. We recently put together a LEGO model of a VW camper van and that tested our patience, so recreating a movie and then having to edit it would have driven us past the plastic breaking point.

Stay tuned to htxt.africa if you like LEGO, as we have a feature on LEGO robotics and education in the pipelines that is as awesome as it sounds.
