Over 9.5 million people helped EA test Star Wars Battlefront

You can pretty much slap ‘Star Wars’ on anything these days and guarantee that it will sell like hot cakes. The latest proof of this comes directly from Electronic Arts, with the announcement that the recent beta test of Star Wars Battlefront boasted the biggest beta phase for any game in the company’s history.

Across PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, over 9.5 million players downloaded and played the beta version of the game to get a better feel for what is in store, and to help EA polish it to a bright shine for its November 17 release.

“I can’t overstate how thankful we are for all the feedback you provided us. Our team is working to get Star Wars Battlefront ready for launch, and we look forward to sharing updates coming out of the Beta soon. With that being said, check out what you were able to accomplish in the short time with the beta,” said Star Wars Battlefront Community Manager Mathew Everett in a blog post.

Interestingly, over 6 million players managed to level up to Rank 5 – the highest level achievable during the beta window and the level at which the awesome jump pack unlocks – and that 783 000 Walkers were demolished in total.

To show all of these juicy facts off, EA has put out a pretty neat infographic:

Clearly, there’s a lot of interest in Battlefront, and with a bit of luck EA will have the time to implement much of the feedback provided by beta players before the game launches on the 17th of November.

Let’s also hope that when the final game is out, our own Clinton Matos will find more to like than he did during the beta.
