Project Isizwe among final SA Innovation Awards nominees

Project Isizwe‘s City of Tshwane Free WiFi project has been nominated along with 19 other organisations as the top 20 finalists in the first ever South African Innovation Awards.

Hosted by Business Connexion’s My World Of Tomorrow (MWOT) conference taking place this month, the SA Innovation Awards are aimed at recognising technological innovation among local businesses.

Nominations were submitted in nine categories. The following organisations have been chosen as finalists:

“There are some very interesting innovative concepts and products we can look forward to seeing at the Awards presentation. There is a diverse variety of ICT related innovations which is to be expected and they range from health related innovations to solutions orientated products,” said Dr Sibongile Gumbi, group executive of biotechnology at the Technology Innovation Agency and one of the SA Innovation Awards judges.

The winners in each category will be announced at the awards presentation on 21st October 2015, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, followed by the MWOT conference on the from 22nd to 24th October at the same venue.

On a side not, if you are attending, you’ll want to use this guide to plan how you’ll get there as certain roads in Sandton, will be closed for the City of Joburg’s Ecomobility festival.
