Survey: South Africans share their opinions of #FeesMustFall

How do South Africans, students and non-students, generally feel about the #NationalShutDown #FeesMustFall protests? Are they for or against it? Mircojobbing service, M4JAM, gives us some insight into this via this survey.

If you’re an M4JAM user, you can take the #FeesMustFall survey and have your voice heard. The survey comprises just 10 short multiple choice questions, and you don’t have to be a student to take part.

At the end of the survey, you can view the results and see what others are saying about it.

So far, 456 users have taken the survey; M4JAM’s goal is to reach 80 000 South Africans or more.

The majority of respondents are between the ages of 27 and 34, 55% are female, 38.9% black, 38.3% white and 98.7% say they are aware of the protests.

Most respondents supported the general sentiment that higher education is too expensive and that it’s an issue that needs to be addressed immediately.

Interestingly, when it came to the question of whether the protest was good or bad for the country, there seems to be an almost exact split between the two.
