Get busy with the Intel RealSense camera at an event designed to use it for business

South Africa has been adapting to the Maker culture with emerging technologies and building some really cool stuff. Skills capacity is surely growing and we are making. There are different ways we can measure growth of a community, and we need to ask ourselves if makers are really making sense of business.

We need to go beyond making “cool stuff” to finding social and economical value of the projects. Geekulcha believes in creating an ecosystem of more producers than consumers as active citizens of the country.

In the spirit of the Global Entrepreneurship Month, Geekulcha will be hosting one of its Electronics Wednesday (GeeksConnect with Intel RealSense) initiatives at the Tshwane Innovation Zone, 18th November, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The seminar will be about the Intel RealSense, a 3D camera which is currently available for developers only in South Africa.

Intel RealSense camera (could be) a game changer in the sensor-tech world, and we need to get makers familiar with the technology and find uses for it in the business world.

The seminar will include talks, workshops, “show and tell”, panel discussion and “Pitch & Win” sessions. All the activities are meant to ask the and address the question: can South African makers make Business Sense?

Register for the seminar for free and be part of the revolution of Makers making business for the good of the society and the economy. The seminar is open to all.

Tiyani Nghonyama is the COO of Geekulcha, an organisation dedicated to improving access to tech careers for South African students.
