Roboze One+400 3D printer can print with just about anything

In October we learned of German company Indmatec and its 3D printer and that it has the unique claim to fame of having the only machine on the market to be able to print Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK).

This filament could create a variety of products from medical implants all the way to automotive parts thanks to its strength (up to half that of steel) and high resistance.

Italian company Mecatronika is set to muscle in on Indmatec’s territory. Not only can Mecatronika’s Roboze One+400 3D printer print PEEK, it can also print also many other filament types.

The Roboze has a double extruder set-up that can reach temperatures in excess of 400° C, enough to melt the extremely tough PEEK, which has a melting point of 343°C. It also allows the Roboze to print using polycarbonate (PC), PC/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), polyethylene and ULTEM.

ULTEM is another difficult-to-use plastic which, in the past, required specialty printers, just like those that can print PEEK.

Aside from trick extruders and filaments, this printer is belt-less, has a 3.5-inch colour touchscreen and a 32-bit microprocessor.

Available from 2016, the Roboze One+400 will be shown off at the Formnext show in Frankfurt taking place on the 17th to 20th November this year; we aim learn more about this Jack of all trades printer then.

Hopefully it is a master of all.
