Battlefield 4’s Dragon Valley map is hiding some unique armour

While Battlefield 4 has been out for the better part of two years, new life is being breathed into the game as players try to solve an extremely complex, but rewarding easter egg in the game’s Dragon Valley map.

YouTuber jackfrags (real name Jack Mason) along with fellow gamers HattiWatti, Hadoukenz and ShadowSix have solved an easter egg that takes the form of a puzzle.

The puzzle begins with a flashing light outside a temple on the map near a skull icon. The flashing is morse code that when deciphered produces a message in Russian which reads, “Did you miss me? Good luck JJJU”. As Mason points out, JJJU is a reference to Julian Manolov, an engineer at DICE LA that worked on easter eggs on the newer Battlefield 4 maps and expansions.

This marks the beginning of a very long and complex journey that Mason took to solve the puzzle. In short it involves switching a series of lanterns on to activate a keypad which triggers more morse code which in turn leads you to another map

The video below will lead you through all the steps though they will differ from player to player and the process is quite lengthy so be warned. Mason even mentions that they had to use many sheets of paper to track how buttons affect lanterns and even had to speed up slowed down audio he found to decipher a message.

What is incredible is how detailed and elaborate this easter egg is. Thankfully the reward of unique DICE armour, which was only available to DICE employees until this easter egg, is worth the effort especially i you’re still playing Battlefield 4.
