Zuma dominated SA Facebook conversations in 2015

Zuma, Zuma, Zuma! That’s what got most South Africans talking on Facebook throughout the year, according to the social network’s 2015 top trends list.

“Together, our lists paint a picture of what the world was talking about in 2015— from politics to sporting events to some of the toughest issues facing the world today,” Facebook said in a statement.

Whether it was the State of The Nation Address, which was among the year’s top trends on Twitter, Zuma’s fumbling over figures on live national television, or him mocking MPs who doggedly called him out over Nkandla, we did not hold back on posting our opinions on the controversial head of state.

Facebook analyses its Year in Review top 10 lists by measuring how frequently a topic was mentioned in Facebook posts made between 1st January and 1st December 2015.

Below is a round up of the top ten topics, places and stickers that had locals Facebooking like mad in 2015.
