Uncharted 4 has been delayed again

Bad news for PS4 console owners and fans of cocksure adventurer Nathan Drake – Uncharted 4 has been delayed yet again.

A post on Sony’s PlayStation blog states that Uncharted 4 will now only see release on the 10th of May this year. This marks the second time that the game has been delayed; it was originally slated for release this month but was pushed to the 26th of April last in December last year.

According to Sony’s announcement, however, Uncharted 4 isn’t being delayed because of development issues or any last minute tweaking. Instead, the new release date is due to the huge demand for the game and to ensure a satisfactory release on a global scale.

“As you know, Naughty Dog is wrapping up production on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End with the game on track to go gold and into production later this month,” SCEA CEO Shawn Layden announced in the blogpost. “In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time.”

“We know this news might be disappointing, and we are sorry to have to make you wait a little longer to play Naughty Dog’s latest,” he added. “The good news is that the game is phenomenal — we are fully confident that it will be worth the wait and the team at Naughty Dog is eager as ever for you to experience Nathan Drake’s final adventure.”

So there you have it. We’re all going to have to wait a little bit longer to hang out with Nathan. Let’s hope the wait is worth it.
