ETC urge etolls non-payers to make arrangements before 60% discount ends

With two weeks to go before the etolls 60% discount dispensation ends, the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) company has urged motorists who are yet to settle their debts to make payment arrangements.

The 60% discount has been running for just under a year, after being announced last year and will officially end on 2nd May.

“Those who enter into the payment plan will then have until November 2016 to settle their outstanding debt completely, depending on the amount owed,” Skhumbuzo Macozoma, ETC CEO, said in a statement.

ETC said it recognises the need to accommodate motorists who want to pay their etolls but are unable to due to financial constraints.

“Once an agreement has been made, it’s vital that motorists stick to their payment plan. If they fail to do so, they will risk forfeiting their discount and have to pay their debt in full,” ETC said.

Those who fail to pay at all or make any arrangements face legal action and may have a summons served to them very soon.

Payment arrangements can only be made by calling the dispensation Less60 call centre on 087 353 1490 between 8am – 8pm on weekdays and 8am – 1pm on Saturdays.
