On 27th April 2016, public WiFi provider AlwaysOn will make all its AlwaysOn Hotspots and SuperWiFi locations across the country available for free.
That means you will be able to connect to an AlwaysOn hotspot and surf as much as you want for South Africa;s favourite price – gratis, nothing, mahala. But before you queue up a zillion downloads, be aware that Ts and Cs apply under the company’s “fair usage policy”.
“At AlwaysOn, the focus has always been about pushing the boundaries and trying new things. Sure, things might not always work out how you plan, but nothing worth doing happens in your comfort zone. It is for this very reason that AlwaysOn has decided to push the envelope and attempt what has never been done before in South Africa,” said Hayden Lamberti, Managing Director of AlwaysOn in a press statement.
To make sure you are ready and able to connect for free all day long, here are the steps to take:
- Go to www.alwayson.co.za
- Use the HOTSPOT FINDER to find your nearest SUPERWIFI LOCATION.
- When you are in an AlwaysOn SuperWiFi Hotspot, switch on your device’s WiFi.
- Search for AlwaysOn amongst the available WiFi networks on the drop down.
- Click on AlwaysOn and your smart device will connect.
- Open your browser and you will be directed to the AlwaysOn Dashboard when you attempt to load any web pages.
- Fill in your details to register, and browse away.a
“When you’re in an AlwaysOn SuperWiFi Hotspot, whether you choose to connect to the Internet to watch videos of cute kittens rolling in wool or to download every single episode available of the Walking Dead (for a better experience, find your nearest SuperWiFi Hotspots), AlwaysOn are providing free Internet access to make it all happen on Freedom Day,” the company explained in a statement.
