Netflix and Marvel team up once again for The Punisher

When it was announced that Frank “The Punisher” Castle would be joining Matt Murdoc Netflix’s Daredevil series we were beside ourselves.

Now news has reached us that the vengeful merc is getting his own show on Netflix. Can we get a hell, yeah?!

According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, The Wolf of Wall Street) will once reprise his role as Castle bringing his own, violent brand of justice to the streets of Hell’s Kitchen.

Netflix also revealed a short teaser on Twitter which you can view below.

The report goes on to reveal that Steve Lightfoot, the executive producer for Hannibal among other TV shows, will be heralding the series.

This brings the total number of Marvel and Netflix series to six including Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and the upcoming Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders.

For anybody that hasn’t experienced what how Bernthal interprets the role of The Punisher and immediately assumes this is going to be a recreation of the 2004 disappointment starring Thomas Jane, just take a look at this clip from season two Daredevil.

Fair warning, it’s violent and therefore probably not safe for work.

More details about the series are expected to be released later today at which point we will update this story where necessary.
