Watch our exclusive footage of BB-8 in LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Star Wars has received the LEGO game treatment in the past, and now The Force Awakens will be cast in the brick. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is coming out relatively soon on June 28th, but we have a stopgap to keep you satiated until then.

The video below is a short 30-second vignette showing off the one and only BB-8 in action. The spherical droid will be playable in the game, and you can see him running down Stormtroopers, solving puzzle and, amusingly, trying to play with a football.

If, like us, you really, really want a physical version of the LEGO BB-8, you’re not going to be able to get one without spending a lot of money. Currently the little guy is only available in four sets, all of which cost a pretty penny. The cheapest is the $60 (~R1045 local price) 75148: Encounter on Jakku set, but the coolest a mix up between the  the 75105: Millennium Falcon and 75102: Poe’s X-wing Fighter. Granted, they do cost $150 and $80 respectively (R2 250 and R1 138).

While having the Millennium Falcon and/or X-Wing on your desk, tiny BB-8 included sounds great, the (much cheaper) game will actually let you fly the spaceships and play as the droid, so it’s got a lot going for it based on that alone.

We’ll have to pay the game ourselves before we make any solid recommendations. Check back on games.htxt for our review in the coming weeks.
