The Elder Scrolls: Legends beta is over and new content is coming soon

Bethesda has announced that its digital collector card game, The Elder Scrolls: Legends is now out of beta and can be played by anybody with a PC and an internet connection.

“After several months of beta feedback from players and a myriad of improvements, additions, and optimisations, we’re extremely proud to officially remove the ‘Beta’ tag from The Elder Scrolls: Legends, and formally launch on PC,” said Bethesda in a statement.

The digital card game is still free and can be downloaded via the Bethesda Launcher which in turn can be found on Bethesda’s website (click the Launcher button in the top right-hand corner).

Specification wise The Elder Scrolls: Legends requires a minimum of a 2.5GHz Intel Pentium 4 (or an equivalent AMD Athlon) CPU, 1GB of RAM and 250MB of storage space.

The Fall of The Dark Brotherhood

As part of the official launch of the game, Bethesda also announced the game’s first expansion: The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood.

This expansion will unlock in April and will unlock 25 new missions and 40 new cards which includes three new Legendary cards. The expansion can be purchased as three separate maps or as a bundle for $19.99 (~R265) when it launches.

Bethesda also announced that the game would be coming to the iPad on 23rd March and to Android tablets in April.

Like Hearthstone, the game will also be made available on mobile phones in the north’s summer (our winter) but a solid launch date will be announced at E3 2017 in June.

While I did enjoy playing The Elder Scrolls: Legends beta it didn’t sink its teeth into me as much as Hearthstone did. Make no mistake, it is a fun game and it offers up a few interesting mechanics such as the two different lanes, but I found myself going back to Hearthstone time and time again.

What’s more is that The Elder Scrolls: Legends expansion launch is within spitting distance of the release of Journey to Un’Goro, the next big expansion from Blizzard.

Thankfully both games are free to download and test out so you can make your own call on which digital collector card game you want to invest time in.
