Destiny 2 reveal trailer announced

Yesterday news emerged that Bungie had officially confirmed that Destiny 2 was in the pipeline on Twitter. Today, they’ve offered a taste of what players can expect from the game.

Not in the form a full length trailer, you understand. Oh no, Destiny 2 is evidently a huge enough release that its full length trailer warrants a teaser, which is what the Bellevue developer released last night. Because ya’ know – Destiny.

Have a gander at this admittedly beautiful – and rather funny – piece of footage:

Fans will be familiar with the character enjoying a glass of space booze in the teaser – that would be Cayde-6, the Hunter Vanguard from the Tower in Earth’s Last City and he’s still being voiced by Nathan Fillion (he of Firefly, Castle and Buffy The Vampier Slayer fame).

While the teaser doesn’t seem to contain any footage from the game – unless this is a cut-scene Bungie plan to plug into it – it does show that the Last City has been reduced to a pile of rubble, so clearly all of you Guardians weren’t working hard enough in the first game.

It also reveals that the full length trailer for Destiny 2 will drop on 30th March at 10am PST and 6pm BST. Yes, that’s tomorrow and if you can’t be bothered to look up the local time, don’t worry, we have you covered. The Destiny 2 trailer can be watched at 7pm South African time.

Let’s give a hearty ‘woo-hoo’ about the fact that a reveal for a massive upcoming videogame won’t require us locals to put on a coffee in the wee hours of the morning. Thank God for small mercies.

Destiny 2 is expected to arrive around 8th September in Europe. There’s no word yet on a US or SA release date.
