Facebook Stories are here

Facebook’s direct challenge to Snapchat is now complete with the launch of Facebook Stories, which began appearing on its app from late yesterday.
Facebook Stories allows users to upload multimedia including photos and videos, which will automatically disappear in 24 hours.
This follows the launch of the same feature that arrived first to Instagram and then to WhatsApp, both of which are owned by Facebook.
The company has been quite blatant in its bid to compete with Snapchat, which has risen sharply in popularity of the past couple of years.
For those who want to use Facebook Stories, you’ll see the feature right at the top on your News Feed, above the status update function.
You can tap on your photo and choose whether to upload a video or photo and add effects.
Facebook Stories can be uploaded either as a post or message sent within Messenger.
