DA to argue in court against Molefe’s reinstatement

After being granted its application to appear as a respondent in the Labour Court dispute over Brian Molefe’s dismissal from Eskom, the DA will today present its arguments against Molefe’s reinstatement.

The DA made its application yesterday and was granted it shortly before the case began. DA Federal Executive Chairperson, James Selfe, will be making the arguments at the Johannesburg Labour Court.

“We will counter, in the strongest possible fashion, Molefe’s bizarre contention that he never ceased to be an employee of Eskom,” Selfe said.

“The DA is of the belief that Molefe’s reappointment was completely irrational and that it should be set aside, a matter we will argue once the Labour court case is concluded and our application before the High Court proceeds in August this year.”

The EFF, which had also made an application to be respondents, will also be making its arguments in the court following the DA.
