Trump may live-tweet James Comey’s testimony

Just when you thought the Trump news cycle couldn’t get any more surreal, a new piece of information comes bounding up to you like a rabid, three-eyed dog wearing a kilt.

After a week in which he invented a brand new word and pulled the US out of the Paris Accords, Trump is now claiming credit for the Middle East turning on Qatar and has slagged off the mayor of London following the terrorist attacks at London Bridge.

Don’t think The Don’s done for this week, however, oh hell no! It’s recently emerged that the 45th President of the United States of America may live-tweet in response to former FBI director James Comey, as he gives testimony before the US Senate tomorrow. What japes!

The Washington Post’s politics correspondent Robert Costa revealed in a tweet that President Trump may take to social media if he “feels the need to respond” to anything Comey says during his testimony.

Given that Comey’s testimony is likely to cover the FBI’s investigation into whether or not Russia meddled in the US election, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility he may have some rather damning things to say about Trump. And since Trump approaches social media with all the subtlety of a wrecking ball hitting an orphanage on Christmas Eve, it’s likely that should Comey slate him in any way, he’ll unleash a wave of vitriol on Twitter.

Hey, it beats yelling at the television, which was probably Trump’s only option in situations like these before the invention of Twitter. We’re hoping that he becomes so apoplectic that we finally find out what the hell covfefe means!
