This desk PC uses sixteen 4K screens

We’ve featured the great YouTube channel Linus Tech Tips before for its interesting, and sometimes heartbreaking, tech videos, and their newest one continues the trend.

The title “gaming at 16K resolution” would lead you to believe that the channel has gotten some early access to a new screen that can output at that ridiculous resolution. But, no, that’s not the case. What they really did is strap sixteen 4K monitors together to use as a single display.

As you may imagine this is a lot more complex that setting up a dual or even triple monitor display, which is becoming more prevalent as people look for more screen real estate.

You can skip the first video in this two parter as it only deals with the assembly and the screens are only turned on briefly. What you need to know is that the 4K Acer screens are being powered by four NVIDIA Quadro P5000s and a Quadro Sync II card.

To keep everything from falling over a huge custom desk PC by iCTABLE houses the PC that runs everything as well as the scaffolding needed for the display.

We don’t know what’s better in this video, the fact that everything worked or the fact that the first game that they thought to try out was Minecraft.

The other oddities of the setup, such as Lara Craft being full 1:1 scale to a human and the itty bitty menus in Half-Life, are great too.

Some lucky fans got to give this setup a try at the recent Linus Tech Tips meetup where one person chose to use their time to play Solitaire at the insane resolution of 15360 x 8640.

Choice of games aside, we’re disappointed that no one cosplaying Oracle was sat behind all of those screens to give information to Batman.
