The all-in-one digital education bundle for students in 2018

South African schools are steadily incorporating digital education into students’ lives as a medium of education, and this poses a problem for many parents who then need to shop for appropriate, affordable tablets and peripherals for their children.

Buying the right tablet for educational purposes can be tricky at the best of times, however. On the one hand parents don’t want to pay too much money on something that is going to be living in a backpack all day, but they also don’t want to spend too little money and get a tablet that the student will outgrow very quickly.

Going into a retail store can be daunting with so many tablet brands and specs, and often the retail assistant will try and sell you something that they are comfortable with, and not what you really need.

To make things a bit easier for you, Samsung launched a bundle last year called School-in-a-box that makes digital education easy. And it comes in three different price points to suit your needs and your budget.

Options Aplenty

There are three different School-in-a-box kits – Essential, Classic, and Advanced – and all three come with a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, a Universal Keyboard cover, a 16GB microSD card, earphones, screen protector, and tablet carry cases.

The Essential kit comes with a 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite that sports a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. That sounds small for apps such as the Microsoft Office Suite, but this kit gives you decent performance in classroom applications nonetheless.

The Classic kit features a Samsung Tab E, which is a slightly bigger 9.6-inch slate with similar specs to the Tab 3 Lite, but with an extra 500MB of RAM. This slate is great for the student that needs a bit more computing power for things such as accounting or geography where one might use a resource-hungry app such as Google Maps.

Finally, the Advanced kit comes with a Samsung Tab A for the student with big demands.

The tablet’s 2GB of memory, along with the quad-core CPU makes multi-tasking super simple, and the battery should last through the day for even the most demanding student’s needs.

To complete this bundle, School-in-a-box also comes with a one-year Tech Insurance Policy, which delivers 12 months of accidental damage insurance and one free screen replacement (terms and conditions apply.)
