Here’s something a bit strange; the South African Airways website flysaa.com has been going on and offline for much of the afternoon.
When first navigating to the website we were met with the following visual.
The message is in Chinese and reads, “Website Maintenance. Website is being regularly improved. Thank you for your patience! Welcome back later.”
Shortly after spotting this we attempted to reload the page and were redirected to test.flysaa.com and met with a warning from Google Chrome stating “Your connection is not private”.
The website appeared again briefly before once again displaying the “Your connection is not private” message.
We contacted SAA to find out what exactly is going on and all we have received at time of writing is the following tweet.
Sorry for the website, we have advised our technicians and they are working on it, please call Reservations department on + 011 978 1111 for assistance. #Flysaa_care

While we wait for more information it’s probably safest to not put any credit card or account details into the website. If all is well, you’ll hear it here first.
