If you’ve been on the internet at all you’ve probably listened to a song by Neil Cicierega and had it stuck in your head for ages.
Now, because some people have all the talent, he’s created and released a text-based game called Monster Breeder.
“You are a monster breeder. People have grown tired of the same old scares. The real money is in designer monsters,” the intro screen reads, “By crossbreeding traditional monsters, you can discover exciting NEW creeps and fiends, never before imagined.”
You can play the game entirely in your browser and, while it does rely on clicking on text prompts to progress, you can use the arrow keys to explore a few maps hunting for new monsters to breed together.
Our first experience was the game saw us catching Slender Man and Hannibal Lecter before forcing them to mate, resulting in “Slecter Han”. The game tells us that “their child is beautiful” and, with no image to accompany this abomination, we’ll have to take its word for it.
See the trailer below for a quick look at the gameplay.
